FotoHouse Artist-in Residency Program

FotoHouse is committed to incubating local artists developing film, video, and photography projects in the Austin area.  As part of this commitment, we will host quarterly fotohouse Artist-in-Residency (fAIR)  programs to include two artists, from the photography and film/motion communities, respectively.  The mission of this program is to provide artists from diverse backgrounds and varied disciplines with unparalleled resources and support that allows them to pursue new ideas and take provocative risks to expand their artistic practice.

All residents will be selected by leading photographers, videographers, and tastemakers in the Austin scene.  Upon reviewing the residents' project proposals, parameters will be developed and the resources needed will be provided by fotohouse.  Based on the project parameters, nominees will have access to fotohouse resources, including a large network of industry professionals, equipment, studio space, models, props/vehicles, potential investors, and art collectors.

Residencies will last 3 months, and include monthly check-in meetings with the fotohouse Founders to review project status and needs, and to provide creative problem-solving, technical advice, and administrative support.  Nominees will also be paired with a leading mentor in their field to advise throughout their time at FAIR.

Upon completion of the residency, fotohouse will hold a reception showing the artist work with invited industry professionals, and support the further development of the work.  fotohouse reserves the right to use these works in promotional material.
